Changeover Optimization

The objective of this page is to allow the user to evaluate the optimal sequence in which to perform a set of predefined format changes, in order to minimize the total time required.

To initiate a request, the user must first define which format changes should be included in the optimization. A dedicated control is available for this purpose, allowing the selection of up to fifteen format changes from the list of available options.

Once the formats have been selected, the page displays the information related to the requested optimization. Specifically, two separate tables are presented:

  • Optimization using Prior Mean: This table shows the optimal sequence of format changes to be performed on the machine to achieve the shortest total changeover time. The calculation is based on ideal times manually entered by the user in the dedicated configuration section.

  • Optimization using Bayesian Mean: This table proposes an alternative optimized sequence based on actual historical data from previous format changes. The formula used to calculate the weight of each changeover is based on the Bayesian mean (also known as the posterior mean).
